I'm guessing its a setting in the Disney disc itself but I haven't taken the time to look into it yet. This is my first Yamaha device and I have nothing but positive things to say. This system was recommended by the Best Buy salesperson as his personal favorite. It was very easy to install, and the sound quality is very impressive. I do not like the difference in sound levels between the normal level of speech and the action levels; the difference tends to be too loud . Also, the unit does interface perfectly with the Samsung "Anynet" system. So, at times I need to mess around with multiple remotes to get the sound to work. However, all in all, this is a very good system for the price. You may choose between two colors for the Sonos Arc soundbar to match the style of your home's decor.

Check to see which ones will work with the speakers that you have. It all depends on the receiver that is used. Standard speaker wire for the 5 main speakers, and a single to stereo RCA cable for the subwoofer. If you only have one subwoofer, you don't need a splitter. Just plug the subwoofer cable into one of the subwoofer inputs.
Great Job Yamaha and thank you best buy for helping me with these important choices give the thousands of different options available. It will eliminate any frequencies above where you set the crossover frequencies going to the subwoofer, thereby allowing the subwoofer to only handle the frequencies it is meant to handle. The splitter is needed to take the right and left channel signals and send one signal to the subwoofer and another signal to the regular speakers. You could also do the same thing by just buying some extra speaker wire and running two pairs of wire from both the right and left channels of your amplifier. Run one set to the subwoofer and the other set to the regular speakers. This subwoofer has both types of hookups available, so it is your choice.
Make sure they're right before buying. The included sub with the 5.1 system is 8" with 60W amp. the 150W 12" will give you much bigger and deeper sound. We created a new SKU that includes the 12" instead of the 8". You will need an a/v reciever than can drive the speakers.
You could start with a 3.0 system by buying 3 of these for $224. Use one for center channel vertical if you have the space as that is ideal to have 3 of the same across the front. Lowest really good one is the RSL speedwoofer 10s at $399.
I'm the only one that can tell if I bought thousand $ speakers there would be an improvement in sound, but that is definitely not worth the extra money. Thus the wiring of 4 remote speakers took a while to setup, but worth the extra time compared to wireless and the speaker wire isn't very noticeable within the room. The most fun is after you have all the speakers setup, Yamaha as the build in calibration speaker that configures each speaker depending on where you put the device. This is the best option of this system. It does the work for you and leaves all the custom calibration for each speaker. You can change it, but how it set it up is worth it.
Install was straight forward as was the set up. The mounting screws were a little off and I had to get a different screw, as described in other reviews. Still in the warm up phase so I have not pushed the system yet.
I wish it had a universal remote that could handle my DVR. 5.1 surround sound is better because the audio is spread out in 360 degrees to provide a more immersive experience. 7.1 surround sound is only able to offer a stereo experience and does not have enough range for an immersive experience. Also included in the box are four C brackets for mounting the satellite speakers to the wall and the necessary hardware for mounting the speakers to the brackets.
